Upcoming Updates for HardKnocks! Audio & Graphic Content + Bug Fixes!
Okay... so the publishing of the project hasn't gone as smooth as I wanted, but I learned a lot, thanks for your patience.
On that note, the demo is now finally at an acceptable level of polish for game-play. The focus now is adding audio, improving graphics and fixing bugs.
Upcoming Updates:
Grapical:
- T-Rex running & dying animation
- new sprite for juvenile Alamosaurus
- juvenile Alamosaurus running animation
- new mountain, boulder, and tree sprites
- improved nest sprite
Audio:
- sound effects for actions (stomping, chewing, roars)
- juvenile Alamosaurus cries when lost
- ambient music
Current Known Bugs:
- double points gaining on one tail whack. Multiple hits are registering for singular impact hits in general; which is undesired
- T-Rex sometimes will not play certain animations When hit (probably related to tail impact issue)
- the mountain will lose some texture on replay (will be fixed when I replace the mountain)
- tail has unwanted jitters
- tail will sometimes get caught in other objects and stretch at ridiculous lengths; rarely resulting in the tail disappearing entirely as well
Immediate Updates for Today:
- rework of the tutorial UI
- show level objective on current level
- show high scores of each level on level selector
Finale Notes:
I've worked really hard on this game and will keep improving it, along with my other games. I will fix the more prominent bugs but am more focused on adding small amounts of content. I also want to add more prehistoric creatures that lived in the late Cretaceous. Let me know what are some of your suggestions. All the feedback I can get will help me with this process.
